THE LAND OF THE PHARAOHS . . .

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PHARAOHS:
Read all about the lives and feats of legendary pharaohs, including Ramses, King Tut, and Hatshepsut.

TIMELINES OF THE PHARAOHS:
View the pharaohs by the periods in which they reigned, starting with the Early Dynastic Period, moving through the Old Kingdom with Khufu or Cheops, up to the Late Kingdom with Darius and Xerxes and the invasion by Persia. An extensive list of pharaohs and their backgrounds is included.

LAND OF THE PHARAOHS:
It's the next best thing to being there when you can climb aboard a tour of the land of the pharaohs in this online exhibit from PBS.

KING TUT, THE BOY KING . . .

THE STORY OF KING TUT:
Who was he, why does he matter, and why are we so fascinated with him? Learn about this young boy king, his reign, the mystery surrounding his death, the amazing discovery of his tomb - a story in itself, the treasures found in his tomb, and daily life in Tut's times.

TREASURES OF KING TUT:
If you haven't had the chance to visit a museum collection of King Tut's treasures, then you're in luck. This online gallery depicts panels, thrones, chests, etc. from the tomb of King Tutankhamun, with explanations for each entry.

UNRAVELING THE MYSTERIES OF KING TUTANKHAMUN:
National Geographic presents this online exploration into the mysteries of that most fascinating of pharaohs, King Tut. Students will start with an interpretation of the wall panels and paintings in King Tut's tomb. Then unwrap the tomb, layer by layer, to see what Howard Carter and company must have seen when they did the same - amazing! High-tech forensics is included.

KING TUT REVEALED:
Another online exhibition from National Geographic, this one looks at the results of forensic investigations, concluding with what is known for certain about the boy king.

AT THE TOMB OF TUTANKHAMEN:
Journey back to February 1923, and this archived, interactive edition of the National Geographic Magazine - a very special issue, for it was this edition that revealed the discovery and treasures of the tomb of Tut.
