4TH OF JULY & FLAG DAY . . .

A COLORING BOOK OF AMERICAN FLAGS:
Download all of the fifty American state flags in small, medium, or large images to color, collate, and create a flag book for Flag Day. Historical U.S. Flags are also available.

FLAG DAY WORDSEARCH:
In glorious red, white, and blue, here is a Flag Day wordsearch for you to print out for your classes, with most of the relevant, associated vocabulary.

PATRIOTIC NOTEPADS:
[LINK2]
Print out copies of these notepads to celebrate the 4th of July, and keep them handy for to-do lists, homework, notes to yourself, etc. Use the 2nd link above to make sticky note glue, so that you can swipe some glue on the top of each page with a paintbrush to create your own memo pads (or simply use glue sticks, as suggested here as well).

PATRIOTIC CHENILLE DOLLS:
[LINK2]
Your students will love these vintage patriotic "dolls", that they craft with red chenille stems (blue would look stunning as well), and the vintage images at the 2nd link above. A star template is also included for this Memorial Day or 4th of July Americana craft.

4TH OF JULY I SPY:
See how long it takes your elementary students to find all of the objects in the bottom word list, in this summer printable filler activity.

STAR SCULPTURE HATS:
These hats are perfect for patriotic celebrations and parades, such as Flag Day or Memorial Day coming up, and they are quite easy to make. If you don't have fun foam or don't want to go to the expense of purchasing it, simply use colored construction paper. Have pre-cut star templates for younger students to assemble.

4TH OF JULY COLORING PAGES:
Choose from a healthy selection of coloring pages for your PreK-2, 4th of July celebrations, featuring the American Flag, Uncle Same, fireworks, parades, hats, and more.

4TH OF JULY MAZE:
Download and print out this worksheet for your elementary students this summer (you can include it in a home pack of printable activities), where they have to make their way through the American Flag maze; also great as an end-of-year filler activity.

4TH OF JULY MATCHING GAME:
Match each of the terms on the left column of this printable page with its partner on the right side; decorated with a patriotic theme.

HANDPRINT AMERICAN FLAG:
I like both the simplicity and ingenuity of this patriotic and collaborative art project, where students will create their own unique, handprint version of the American flag, using red, blue, and white poster paint and an old, (clean) white bed sheet. Have fun, and consider collaborating with another class or two to pass on the flag for more handprints and to continue the project, hanging it in the school hallway for display for Flag Day.

4TH OF JULY FILL IN THE STORY:
Nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, plural nouns... they'll all get plenty of use as your students identify appropriate words for this 4th of July story filler.

TEACHING WITH HISTORIC PLACES FOR 4TH OF JULY:
From the Battle of Bennington to the Washington Monument, looking at the symbolism of Independence Hall or understanding what the Liberty Bell means to our country, find lesson plans here for middle to high school classes on meaningful historic places in our country's history.

4TH OF JULY WORDSEARCH:
Choose a printable wordsearch in either blue or red for some patriotic language arts fun this Independence Day.

4TH OF JULY SCAVENGER HUNT:
A scavenger hunt! What could be more fun for the 4th of July? It's all made easy for you with this printable student sheet, with "Find & Collect", and "Spot These Items" categories.

4TH OF JULY CLIPART:

Access three pages of good old red, white, and blue clipart for you and your classes to celebrate your patriotism on Independence Day.
