Materials:
Pine  cones, white tempera paint, brushes, string, twigs/branches,
glitter (optional)

This is an easy winter arts and crafts project that can be accomplished by almost any age group. Collect suitable pine cones, paint brushes, white tempera paint, string or twine, and twigs or branches. Students will paint white "snow" onto the tips or edges of their pine cones. You could also paint with white glue and roll them in glitter for a more sparkly effect. Attach twine around one end of the pine cones, using different lengths of string to hang the pine cones at different lengths. The other end of the string gets attached to the branch. Make an extra loop in your middle string to hang up your mobile, or tie a string to each end and join them in the middle, much like a hanger.
