ART ACTIVITY LINKS

EARLY EDUCATION ART - FALL

LEAF CRAFTS AND ACTIVITIES:
A Fall Finger Tree is a great art activity for your PreK class; try the Aluminum Foil Leaves, as well as the Leaf Man or Cornstarch Impressions. (PreK-2)

FUN FALL LEAVES:
Students will paint their hands with washable fall poster paints for this wonderful fall craft - messy, but worth it. With their fingers together, they will press their hand leaves onto paper, cut them out, and decorate a tree. (PreK-2)

FALL LEAF PRINTOUTS:
[Link2]
You may need to cut the leaves out for your youngest students, but grades one and two art classes should practice cutting out the shapes by themselves. Students can punch a hole in their leaves and string them up, or use them for collages on a big piece of colored paper. (PreK-2)

APPLE PRINTING:
Cut your apples in half before your art class begins. Students will be dipping their apples into colored paints and creating apple prints. Remind them that the print will turn out better if they don't pile on the paint. Talk about symmetry, and count the apple seeds in each apple half. (PreK-2)

IMPRESSIONIST SPONGE PRINT TREES:
Using inexpensive sponges cut into one inch cubes, students will dab gently into paint colors and then onto paper, creating the illusion of a tree as seen from a distance or through haze. (PreK-2)

CINNAMON CLAY:
You can make anything you want with this clay - add some red coloring for a special treat, or for your students to mold their own apples. While this clay smells yummy, remind students that it contains white glue and they cannot taste it. If you are particularly concerned, replace white glue with a paste of flour and water instead. (PreK-2)
